WATCH: Miss New Jersey Pageant Contestant Goes *OFF* on Campus and Social Media Censorship

Justine Brooke Murray was not your average participant in the June 2021 Miss New Jersey pageant. The reigning Miss Northern Highlands in the Miss America Organization used her platform to remind people what is sadly missing on many U.S. college campuses today.

“What is the most important issue your generation is facing today and why?” Murray was asked by a judge. Instead of picking a safe ‘social justice’ cause, she chose to stand up for American values.

“Our generation is experiencing an epidemic of censorship and entitlement,” she said. “And it is because our professors and celebrities are teaching students to be narcissists, to believe that any view that differs from their own is an existential threat.”

“And this is what I experienced on my own campus, censorship to the point where if people believe that speech is violence, so that they can threaten other people with violence, simply because they disagree with them,” Murray added.

“Very good,” the judge commented. Many in the crowd applauded her.

According to her website bio on Campus Reform, where she is a contributor, Ms. Murray recently graduated from the Maxwell School at Syracuse University, where she was the Founding Chair of the university’s Young Americans for Freedom chapter. She was also the former Chief of Staff for the New York Federation of College Republicans. She is now an influencer for Prager University and an OANN contributor.

“And now your social impact pitch,” another judge requested.

“Free speech,” she said. “It is listed first under the Bill of Rights for a reason. Without it, all other liberties crumble. But today, we are watching free speech get hammered to the ground by the very institutions that are supposed to promote diversity of thought.”

“Let me ask you something,” she said while grabbing the microphone. “Are you a student? Are you a teacher? Are you a professor? The mere words ‘I’m offended’ are now being used as an excuse to silence students, fire professors, and cancel people simply because they do not toe the popular line of thought.”

“And that’s what I experienced,” she added. “An Orwellian phenomenon dominating my own campus to the point where it got borderline violent. But though the Miss America organization, I will promote Miss New Jersey, as Miss New Jersey, by empowering the voices of young women who are not afraid to stand up for what they believe in and to become a voice to be reckoned with.”

Murray recently took to social media to share her appearance, as well as her thoughts on it.

“This was my onstage interview for Miss New Jersey,” she said. “I didn’t win. I didn’t even place. But I wouldn’t have changed a single word.”

But as far as many Americans are concerned, Ms. Murray was the real winner. She stood up for people’s right to free speech, when many are too afraid to stand up to the bullies who run our college campuses and the media.
