Ukraine’s Zelensky Threatens ‘World War 3’ Could Break Out If Putin Peace Talks Fail

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has threatened that World War 3 could break out if his negotiations with Russian president Vladimir Putin fail.

“I’m ready for negotiations with Putin, but if they fail, it could mean World War III,” Zelensky said as reported by the Kyiv Independent.

“Zelensky told CNN that he’s ready to negotiate with Putin, but warned that if negotiation attempts fail, it could lead to a new World War,” the report added. Watch:

“I’m ready for negotiations with him,” Zelensky said in the interview, referring to Putin. “I was ready for the last two years, and I think that – I think without negotiations we cannot end this war. I think that all the people who think this is shallow and won’t resolve anything, they just don’t understand this is very valuable.”

“If there is just 1% chance for us to stop this war, I think that we need to take this chance,” he continued. “We need to do that. I can tell you about the result of this negotiations in any case. We’re losing people on a daily basis, innocent people on the ground. Russian forces have come to exterminate us, to kill us.”

“And we can maintain the dignity of our people and the army, we’re able to deliver a powerful blow, able to strike back,” he said. “Unfortunately our dignity is not going to preserve the lives. So I think we have to use any format, any chance in order to have the possibility of negotiating, the possibility of talking to Putin, but if these attempts fail, that would mean that this is a Third World War.”

Despite CNN reporting live from “Kyiv, Ukraine,” Zelensky recently delivered another address to the world, apparently while posing in front of a green screen.

Zelensky is also cracking down on independent media and political opposition in Ukraine. “Ukraine plans to ban 11 political parties with ties to Russia, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced in a video released via Telegram on Sunday,” Axios reported.

“According to a report by Der Spiegel, the ban was announced via video message on Sunday, and will suspend the operation of the party, which earned 13 per cent of the national vote in 2020 and is most successful in areas of Ukraine with large ethnic Russian and Russian-speaking populations,” Breitbart noted.

“The activities of those politicians aimed at division or collusion will not succeed, but will receive a harsh response,” President Zelensky said as reported by Ukrajinska Pravda.

“Therefore, the National Security and Defence Council decided, given the full-scale war waged by Russia and the political ties that a number of political structures have with this state, to suspend any activities of a number of political parties during martial law,” the statement continued.

The U.S. media has championed Zelensky as a ‘freedom fighter’ for the Ukrainian people, but it is not even clear that he is currently in Ukraine, nor that he cares much about freedom. He was swept into office in 2019 in the aftermath of the Western-engineered Maidan revolution in 2014 on an ‘anti-corruption’ platform, despite the former actor owning undisclosed offshore accounts, according to the Pandora Papers investigation.

As political commentary, the world should back the people of Ukraine. And the people of Russia. The real villains here are the oligarchs who are making them both suffer over their corrupt turf battle. And the American people should not be pawns in their corrupt game, nor should they risk World War III over their Eastern European battles.
