President Joe Biden is leading the radical left’s collective freak-out over “far right” Giorgia Meloni sweeping to power in Italy after parliamentary elections last week. Meloni is now poised to become Italy’s first ever female prime minister, a historic fact that has left purported ‘feminists’ speechless.
But in the aftermath of the right-wing recapturing the parliament in Italy, and becoming part of the governing coaliation in Sweden weeks earlier, the White House is apoplectic and is claiming that a “neofascist” backlash is on the rise globally.
“You just saw what’s happened in Italy in that election,” Biden said at a Wednesday evening fundraiser for the Democratic Governors Association. “You’re seeing what’s happening around the world. The reason I bother to say that is you can’t be sanguine about what’s happening here, either.”
Biden’s warning about Meloni comes after repeated attempts to paint “MAGA” Trump supporters as a “semi-fascist” movement intent on imposing authoritarian rule in the United States.
One glaring flaw in Biden’s argument is that Donald Trump was already President in the United States for four years, had a Republican senate, and did not implement “fascist” policies. Instead, he was one of the most peaceful presidents in modern American history, tolerated an overwhelmingly negative press, and generally respected Americans’ constitutional rights. The same cannot be said for the current White House.
Giorgia Meloni, meanwhile has captured the imagination of Americans who are hungry for vocal and principled opposition to the radical left.
One listen to the future Italian prime minister and you will quickly come to understand why the global elites fear her so much. Watch:
“Please answer me these questions,” she said, as translated from Italian. “This is about what we are doing here today.”
“Why is the family an enemy?” she asked. “Why is the family so frightening? There is a single answer to all these questions. Because it defines us. Because it is our identity.”
“Because everything that defines us is now an enemy for those who would like us to no longer have an identity and to simply be perfect consumer slaves,” she continued. “And so they attack national identity, they attack religious identity, they attack gender identity, they attack family identity.”
The clip from the World Congress of Families in March 2019 went viral and inspired a purely political act of censorship by Google-owned YouTube. It is as blatant an act of election interference as one might find.
As of Wednesday, the platform scrubbed the video, National Review reported, leaving a notice: “This video has been removed for violating YouTube’s Community Guidelines.”
Apparently, being Christian and pro-family is now a violation of YouTube’s purported “guidelines.” More likely, Meloni’s speech is a threat to globalists who want to homogenize national cultures and break up the nuclear family. The overreaction to the right-wing reaction in Italy was also reported by Politico.
“The earthquake in Italy has sent tremors that could be felt in the White House,” Politico noted. “The victory of Italian far-right leader Giorgia Meloni rattled Europe, furthering fears about a new right-wing shift on the continent as it battles economic hardship and nervously watches a raging war on its Eastern flank. It also was met with deep, if private, worry within President Joe Biden’s administration.”
“The White House put a brave public face on it, noting that Meloni’s win was the will of the Italian people while expressing confidence that Italy would remain a steadfast partner with the West,” the report continued.
“It’s a NATO ally, as you know, a G7 partner and member of the EU,” White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said on Monday, adding, “so we will work with the new Italian government on the full range of shared global challenges, including supporting Ukraine as they defend themselves against Russia’s aggression.”
YahooNews reported on Biden’s remarks while warning about Europe’s far-right embracing Meloni, such as France’s Marine Le Pen and Hungary’s Viktor Orban.
But Republican politicians in the United States, in general, have welcomed Meloni’s rise to power in Italy.
“America is stronger when Italy is strong, sovereign, prosperous, and free,” Sen. Tom Cotton of Arkansas wrote in a Twitter message celebrating her victory.
The Republican Party could stand to learn something from Meloni’s straight talk in direct opposition to the socialist left’s globalist agenda. The future of Western Civilization is on the line.
