The “moderate” Biden administration has brought on a State Department spokesperson who has called America’s police officers the “largest threat to U.S. National security” and bashed them in incendiary social media posts.
Jalina Porter, the new deputy spokesperson for the State Department, has a pointed view about the nation’s law enforcement:
“The largest threat to US national security are US cops. Not ISIS, not Russian hackers, not anyone or anything else. If ya’ll don’t wake up and rise up to this truth, the genocide against Blacks in America will continue until we are near extinct. That’s not the world I seek to live in or create for myself and those around me.”
The Washington Free Beacon got a screenshot of the 2015 Facebook post:
An unarmed Black man takes a knee for justice, bigots riot,” she also wrote in the post. “An unarmed black man (with his hands raised) takes a bullet and dies, these same bigots are silent. Explain this to me, please.”
If Porter is referring to the Michael Brown shooting with her phrase about ‘an unarmed black man (with his hands raised) takes a bullet and dies’ this is an oft-debunked Internet-fueled myth. “Hands up don’t shoot was built on a lie,” the Washington Post fact-checkers have put bluntly. So not only is Jalina Porter’s words offensive, they are also ignorant.
Just to give a bit more of the flavor of Jalina Porter’s social media posts, she boldly smeared Nicholas Sandmann, calling him a “young terrorist,” and insulted Tom Brady in one fell swoop.

There are other inflammatory posts from Jalina Porter:

“The largest national security threat to the USA are police officers. Aka the Blue Klux Klan,” she wrote, going by the handle @glamonthill. “When will me (sic) people know peace and security?”
Here’s a constructive idea: Stop demonizing police officers. Recall that Porter pushed the notion that police are a larger threat than “ISIS” and “Russian hackers.” This extraordinary claim further cements she may not be fit to work in national security, as we will now briefly demonstrate.
Despite the incessant media-fueled narrative about the Marxist-founded movement Black Lives Matter (they do matter equally under God and under the law), America’s police are responsible for a relatively low number of fatal shootings of unarmed subjects, including black subjects. The Washington Post put these numbers in striking, albeit sensationalist fashion with a database begun in 2015.
These numbers show that of the 5,992 people fatally shot in altercations with police, only 384 were known to be unarmed subjects and 168 were unknown. As we can then easily calculate, 6.4% of the shootings are known to be unarmed subjects. This is in a nation of 330,000,000 citizens. The rates per million for races were also recorded.
The rates of 34 fatal shootings per million for black Americans compared to 14 fatal shootings for white Americans thus looks less alarming when we consider that a small fraction were coded as unarmed subjects.
The New York Times also ran a study that showed when you correct for police incidents, then the clear evidence of racial bias disappears. This is what the heavily couched Times article stated:
The data is unequivocal. Police killings are a race problem: African-Americans are being killed disproportionately and by a wide margin. And police bias may be responsible. But this data does not prove that biased police officers are more likely to shoot blacks in any given encounter.
Instead, there is another possibility: It is simply that — for reasons that may well include police bias — African-Americans have a very large number of encounters with police officers. Every police encounter contains a risk: The officer might be poorly trained, might act with malice or simply make a mistake, and civilians might do something that is perceived as a threat. The omnipresence of guns exaggerates all these risks.
Let me underscore here that the risk of an unarmed person who is not involved in criminal activity being randomly shot by a police officer is infinitessimal. This holds true whether an American is black or white. These are not the numbers one would expect from the so-called “Blue Klux Klan,” an astoundingly ignorant and racially charged comment that may indeed only fuel more bias against police, and thus, escalate tense situations and increase the likelihood of ensuing tragedy.
One has to wonder what the real goal of this kind of radical hyperbole from Porter is: Driving a wedge between civilians and police officers? Ensuring that racial division is continuously fueled at a fever-pitch for partisan reasons? Regardless of the motive, the data show that the charges are reckless and irresponsible, and unbecoming of anyone who works in the federal government, let alone as a spokesperson for one of the most influential cabinet departments.
Interestingly, the Free Beacon also points out that Porter was “a former top aide in the congressional office of now-top Biden White House adviser Cedric Richmond. At one point Richmond is cited as having said, “If y’all don’t wake up and rise up to this truth, the genocide against Blacks in America will continue until we are near extinct.”
These are not the “moderates” America was promised.
