The Trump impeachment trial took a radical turn on its fifth day when House impeachment managers decided to call for testimony from GOP Rep. Herrera Beutler, following allegations she made about a call between Donald Trump and Kevin McCarthy on the day of the capitol riots.
Senator Ted Cruz that the motion to take her testimony in a one-hour zoom call, approved by 55 senators, “blindsided” Senator Chuck Schumer. The Democrats suggested also that House minority leader Kevin McCarthy and even Donald Trump himself might be called.
Cruz explained how the Democrats’ moves to open up the Senate impeachment trial for witnesses could open up a Pandora’s box for the Democrats. Now, we have a report that the Trump legal team may have as many as 301 witnesses ready to go, should the Democrats pull such a last-minute maneuver.
“Don’t want to give you a majority,” a Trump legal team responded when asked about the number of witnesses ready to be called.
“In the hundreds?” the Recount reporter asked. “Jason?” apparently referring to legal team member Jason Miller.
You can clearly see the number 301 in the upper right-hand of the document, along with the parentheses “so far.”
Update: One of those names indeed appears to be Speaker Nancy Pelosi, which was mentioned along with D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser as potential witnesses.
BOMBSHELL REPORT: Trump legal team seek to subpoena D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser and Nancy Pelosi if Dems call witnesses.
What did they know and when did they know it?
