Florida Gov. DeSantis Slams SCOTUS Justices Roberts & Kavanaugh for Not Having ‘Backbone’ on Vaccine Mandate Decision

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is putting Justices John Roberts and Brett Kavanaugh on blast for the Supreme Court’s decision to uphold the Biden administration’s vaccine mandate for federally funded healthcare facilities.

DeSantis’s spokesperson Christina Pushaw forwarded along the message to the Supreme Court justices.

“Honestly, Roberts and Kavanaugh didn’t have a backbone on that decision,” DeSantis said. “That’s the bottom line.”

Pushaw pointed out that the quote referred to the Supreme Court’s decision not to block the “scientifically illiterate Biden CMS vaccine mandate for healthcare workers.”

It wasn’t the first such adversarial response from Florida’s governor. Pushaw recently highlighted a speech given by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis on Covid vaccination mandates.

“Before Biden, most cases in a day was I think 265,000,” he noted. “Now it’s like 900,000. Clearly the vax hasn’t stopped people from being infected. That’s clear as day. So what’s the basis of forcing somebody else to do that?”

On Thursday, Tampa Bay Times reporter Kirby Wilson was aghast that Pushaw had greeted the Supreme Court’s ruling on the matter with utter contempt.

“I asked [Governor Ron DeSantis] spokesperson Christina Pushaw whether Florida planned to comply with the Biden administration’s vaccine mandate for health care facilities for the time being in light of today’s Supreme Court ruling,” Kirby wrote.

“Here’s some of what she said: ‘The State of Florida is not going to serve as the Biden administration’s biomedical police. Firing unvaccinated healthcare workers, many of whom have infection-conferred immunity, is unethical and unscientific on its face.”

“This policy directly harms patients as well, because hospitals in California and other states are now requiring vaccinated, Covid-positive healthcare workers to treat patients due to staffing shortages — which were exacerbated by vaccine mandates,” she added. “How does that keep anyone safe?” she asked rhetorically.

Pushaw also showed her amusement at a meme regarding Supreme Court Justice John Roberts, who along with Justice Brett Kavanaugh, sided with the radical wing of the court and handed Biden an undeserved victory.

“John Roberts has made his decision; now let him enforce it!” the meme states. She reacted by saying “HAHAHAHA.” (Pushaw clarified to Becker News that she was responding to the meme and it was not a direct quote.)

Florida is intent on maintaining its independence and not consenting to the federal government trampling the Constitution. After all, it’s the United States of America, not the United State of America.
