Freshman Congressman Madison Cawthorne is leading by example.
The North Carolina Representative, who was just elected in 2020, is putting other Congressmembers to shame with his response to shocking reports that National Guard troops are being mistreated.
MILITARY SOURCE IN DC:
“For the last week my battalion has been sleeping on the floor in the Senate cafeteria. Today the Senate kicked us out & moved us to a cold parking garage.
5000 soldiers.
1 power outlet.
One bathroom.
This is how Joe Biden’s America treats solders.”PHOTOS pic.twitter.com/622sQmciq4

The National Guard troops were brought to Washington D.C. to secure the capitol on Inauguration Day, only to be kicked out of Senate quarters and forced to sleep in an empty garage with only one toilet and power outlet.
“Yesterday dozens of senators and congressmen walked down our lines taking photos, shaking our hands and thanking us for our service. Within 24 hours, they had no further use for us and banished us to the corner of a parking garage. We feel incredibly betrayed,” one Guardsman told Politico.
One Congressman did not betray them, however. While action is certainly being contemplated (because politicians generally don’t like being exposed by actual journalists), Cawthorne did the right thing by showing a little gratitude with a random act of kindness. He brought them pizza.
I just visited the solders who have been abandoned & insulted by our leaders. I brought them pizza and told them that they can sleep in my office.
No soldier will ever, ever sleep on a garage floor in the US Capitol while I work in Congress

The North Carolina congressman, whose legs were paralyzed in a car accident in 2014, also met with several of the troops.

Rep. Madison Cawthorne is showing Republicans one outstanding way they can win over the hearts and minds of American voters and our troops: Show a little gratitude and kindness.
UPDATE: Former President Trump reportedly weighed in on the disgraceful situation.
