Pence Praises the ‘Fake News’ Media, Unloads on Donald Trump for ‘Endangering’ His Family on Jan. 6

Former Vice President Mike Pence, who was President of the Senate that presided over the Electoral College on January 6, unloaded on former President Donald Trump at the Gridiron Dinner on Saturday.

Pence slammed his former boss Trump in his strongest criticism to date of his former running mate.

“History will hold Donald Trump accountable for Jan. 6,” Pence said. “Make no mistake about it: What happened that day was a disgrace, and it mocks decency to portray it in any other way. President Trump was wrong. His reckless words endangered my family and everyone at the Capitol that day.”

Donald Trump gave a speech at a location about twenty minutes’ walk from the Capitol on January 6. At the speech, he urged his supporters to “peacefully and patriotically make their voices heard.”

New video from the so-called ‘Q Anon Shaman’ shows him repeating the message that Donald Trump gave at his speech to urge protesters to “go home.”

Furthermore, Donald Trump was banned on social media shortly after sending messages pleading with protesters to remain peaceful.

“Go home with love & in peace,” he urged. “Remember this day forever!”

Pence’s rebuke comes just days after Fox News host Tucker Carlson unveiled never-before-seen footage that proves that Trump’s detractors lied about key events on January 6, including: Capitol Police Officer Brian Sicknick’s death; the Capitol Police’s role facilitating Chansley’s speech on the Senate floor; and the dishonest testimony of uncharged riot-inciter Ray Epps.

Pence objected to Tucker Carlson pointing out that many of the visitors in the Capitol building were peaceful and were acting like sightseers.

“Tourists don’t injure 140 police officers by simply sightseeing,” he said. “Tourists don’t break down doors to get to the Speaker of the House. Tourists don’t threaten public officials.”

The former veep also praised the press for its coverage of Jan. 6., which Trump has routinely slammed as the “enemy of the people” and “fake news.”

“We were able to stay at our post in part because you stayed at your post,” he said of reporters who covered the attack in real time. “The American people know what happened that day because you never stopped reporting.”

“I don’t deny that you infuriate me … and I’m sure I infuriate you … but I genuinely value what you do to keep us a democracy,” he added.

Thus, Mike Pence has revealed himself to be an ally of the Washington establishment and the media, which continue to deceive the American people with one-sided propaganda about what actually happened on January 6.
