Speaker Pelosi’s Response to Accusation She ‘Elbowed’ Daughter of Latina Congresswoman is as Shameless as It Gets

Speaker Nancy Pelosi is not denying that she elbowed the daughter of incoming Republican Latina Congresswoman Mayra Flores, as shown by a video at her swearing-in ceremony. But her spokesperson has offered an explanation: It was just her way of trying to help out the young girl.

Doesn’t everyone try to help out young children by clenching up their fists in a ball and elbowing them in the shoulder. Radical Democrats don’t see what the controversy is about.

“It’s sad to see ‘news outlets’ that know better misrepresent the Speaker’s effort to ensure Rep. Flores’ daughters wouldn’t be hidden behind her in all of the photos of such an important moment for their family,” the Speaker’s Deputy Chief of Staff Drew Hammill responded.

“And here’s more footage of the Speaker graciously greeting Rep. Flores’ children and telling them about the room they are in,” Hamill also tweeted.

Earlier, GOP Rep. Mayra Flores of Texas said that Pelosi “elbowed” her daughter at her swearing-in ceremony. Watch and decide for yourself:

“No child should be pushed to the side for a photo op. PERIOD!!” Flores said in a retweet of the video.

“I am so proud of my strong, beautiful daughter for not allowing this to faze her,” she added. “She continued to smile and pose for the picture like a Queen.”

Pelosi’s elbow jockeying took place at a swearing-in ceremony for the first Mexican-born Congresswoman Mayra Flores, who flipped a deep blue Texas district that hadn’t been flipped for a hundred years.

In a contrast to the religious convictions of the Flores family, which celebrated the Supreme Court’s Dobbs decision that there is no right to abortion in the Constitution, Nancy Pelosi blasted the nation’s highest court in a statement on Monday.

“It is still appalling to me that the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court would agree that a Constitutional right does not exist if it was not spelled out explicitly and in public when the 14th Amendment was ratified over 150 years ago,” Pelosi railed. “While this extremist Supreme Court works to punish and control the American people, Democrats must continue our fight to expand freedom in America.  Doing so is foundational to our oath of office and our fidelity to the Constitution.”

Yet the Supreme Court ruled that there is no right to abortion in the U.S. Constitution, therefore, the Democratic Party is only being loyal to its radical political agenda. The separation of powers exists for a reason in the U.S. Constitution, no matter how much extremist Democrats like Nancy Pelosi try to “elbow” it out of the picture. Abortion does not. It’s just that simple.
