A woman giving an online exercise class during an actual military “coup” in the Asian nation of Myanmar is becoming an Internet sensation.
The woman’s flamouyant aerobics moves, set to catchy modern music, is quickly becoming a meme-worthy event:
The video is catching on beyond the obvious reasons of it being “right place, right time.” Or is it “right place, wrong time.”
This is pretty surreal as COVID aerobics live-streaming intersects with the f**king military coup in Myanmar (this is road, as I understand it, to Parliament building in Naypyidaw as a military convoy arrives). https://t.co/Rll9aq7XxM

Not sure if there is a better metaphor here for modern times.
This lady is giving her aerobics class in front of the Myanmar Parliament while the military coup happens in the background… https://t.co/TKOZtuqAPD

2021 is off to a surreal start, here is a video of an aerobics instructor doing a live stream while the freakin Myanmar military can be seen racing behind to orchestrate the coup… https://t.co/98rGoNY4Cu

The surreal video appears to be legitimate due to GPS coordinates and a closer look at the shadows falling off the steps. The background is definitely a place in Myanmar near where the coup took place.
As a metaphor, it is a perfect encapsulation of how the people of the world are being asked to get on with their lives, as truly disturbing and earth-shaping events unfold before our very eyes.
