WATCH: Biden Whips Out Notes at Ice Cream Shop to Answer Question About Russia

President Biden was whipped by a Russia question while at an ice cream pit stop at Moomers Homemade Ice Cream in Traverse City, Michigan. The president was in Antrim County for a visit with Michigan governor Gretchen Whitmer, but they skipped the National Cherry Festival that had drawn presidents such as Herbert Hoover and Gerald Ford in the past.

His trip was framed as an effort to whip up support for a bipartisan infrastructure package. But the trip appeared to be more of a meet-and-greet campaign style effort to go out and see prospective voters.

While at Moomers, Biden was hit with a question that had him scrambling for his notes. It pertains to recent reports that ‘Russia-based hackers’ had targeted over 1,000 U.S. businesses.

This was at an ice cream shop, mind you. It was odd that such a question would be asked and Biden would quickly agree ‘sure.’ In any event, watch:

“With the most recent hack by the Russians,” someone from behind the counter asked, “Would you say that this means…”

“We’re not sure it was the Russians,” Biden interjected. “I got a brief as I was on the plane, that was why I was late getting off the plane, I got a brief and…”

Biden then paused to pay for his ice cream.

“I will be in better shape to talk about it,” he said, then pulled out a note sheet from his inside breast pocket. “I will tell you what they sent me. Okay?”

“That, uh,” he said. “The idea… first of all, we’re not sure who it is for certain. Number one. And what I do, is that I directed the full resources of the, of the government to assist in the response, if we determine…”

“What else do you need?” he suddenly asked the ice cream attendants.

“Oh, nothing, you’re all set,” she replied.

“Okay, and, um,” Biden continued. “Uh, the fact is that the director of the intelligence community, he gave me a deep dive on what’s happened. And I’ll know better tomorrow.”

“And if it is, uh, either, with the knowledge of, and or the consequence of, Russia, then I told Putin we will respond,” he concluded. Biden then clarified that he had not yet called Putin.

Biden has recently made a number of painful gaffes. He also admittedly couldn’t recall for sure if he had met with a world leader at the White House a week prior.
